What you'll be doing

As Room Manager, you'll:

• Lead the day-to-day running of your nursery room

• Lead, motivate and support your Early Years team

• Ensure children receive high-quality care, learning and development opportunities

• Create engaging play and learning experiences

• Support children's individual development and next steps

• Ensure staffing and deployment support children's needs and required ratios

• Act as a Key Person where required and build strong relationships with children and families

• Coach and support colleagues with their development and Early Years practice

• Help create a safe, stimulating and inclusive nursery environment

• Support effective communication between your room, families and the wider nursery team

• Work closely with the nursery leadership team to maintain high standards

• Follow safeguarding, child protection, health, safety and welfare procedures at all times

• Lead by example and bring our values to life every day

What we're looking for

You'll need:

• A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualification or equivalent

• Good knowledge of Early Years practice and child development

• Experience working within a nursery or Early Years setting

• Confidence leading, supporting or mentoring colleagues

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• A caring, positive and professional leadership style

• Excellent organisation and the ability to balance the needs of children and your team

• A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's wellbeing

• An Enhanced DBS or willingness to undertake the required checks

Previous experience as a Room Manager, Room Leader, Senior Nursery Practitioner or Early Years Team Leader would be an advantage.
